Welcome to the third of this little sequence describing how to employ ]search engine optimisation to have your affiliate marketing website work to generate you money.
Thus far we have decided how to put your website's keywords into the pages of your site, having the website listed in business directories which live all over the internet, and how to utilise social networking to upload lots of links back to your affiliate marketing website. What we want to do now, so as to make the search engines take proper regard of the site, is to place links and keyword references to it in hundreds of locations.
The most work demanding and time consuming method of the SEO work is article writing, and then setting that article included on blogs, in article banks and suchlike locations all over the internet where they will be discovered by the search engines readers, and the links and keywords registered which will bolster your site's 'score' for relevance. This is controversial because in some minds it is seen as conning the system and I absolutely do not concur with this, AS LONG AS the item is original material, the topic is germane and there are no hidden agendas.
The article can be about anything, it can recall personal event, an opinion on a subject in regard to what your website is about, a how-to piece, a review of a product or anything else. I personally aim to average five hundred and fifty words, include 2 links to my website attached to my keywords, of which I want to have both but at least 1 in each paragraph if I can. It's a converse of SEO that you do not stuff your article full of keywords, but apply them sparingly, and 1 link on each keyword in the entire piece is a basic guideline.
What should it look like? Well, this piece is me doing SEO for my company site but not for my affiliate marketing shop, and if you read it again you'll note my rules above are followed in it and if you follow the link in the second paragraph you can discover in the News area a copy of items that do support my fishing shop website.
As soon as it is finished, the following job to do the SEO is to alter the look so that when it is published in lots of different places, each one gets a unique version. To do that you 'spin' the article. Go through each line and look for words that have substitutes. I will utilise the 1st line of this paragraph as an example:
"[spin]As soon as|Once|When[/spin] [spin]it is|it's[/spin] [spin]complete|done|finished[/spin], the [spin]next|subsequent|following[/spin] [spin]job|task|chore|thing[/spin] to do the [spin]SEO|search engione optimisation[/spin] is to [spin]alter|amend|change|rearrange[/spin] the [spin]appearance|look|format|words[/spin] so that when"
That line now has eight alternative sets of words which can be shown in any of 4608 combinations any and all of which will actually make sense. What happens is that the publishing software will select 1 word from between each set of tags and show that. Aim to average 3 synonyms each, but do not overdo it, if there are only two, hold it at that. And the little "|" sign comes from "shift+\" by the Z key. The search engines don't appreciate finding thousands of mirrored articles and the operators of the publishing sites also only want unique versions, and so SEO needs this discipline.
For publishing, I myself employ a site called Unique Article Wizard but it costs to use this. You may like to try and find a free service or, for a little fee I'll do it for you (email enquiries@osiriswebservices.co.uk) but very speedily you will build up a sizable chuck of back-links to your website. However, it will take time, frequently a long while time, before it starts to take effect and push your affiliate marketing up the search engine results.
The subsequent article in this set will explain how you can utilise another SEO technique to get your affiliate marketing website to the peak of the search engines faster, but it uses money, though this can be controlled.
