Chicago Public Schools IT Cluster Event

The Oracle Academy Instructor's Institute prepares instructors to convey the skills that are outlined in the Academy's curriculum of business and technology. The principal focus of this curriculum lies on database design and SQL programming. Based on this MarketWatch report, about 55 local educators in Chicago have recently been asked to become a part of the Academy.

About the Academy

More than one and a half million students from countries the world over have benefited from the courses offered by this Academy. An extensive variety of [IT training] programs, hosted technology, teacher training plus certification resources are offered by the Oracle Academy. These programs can be used by the properly trained faculty members to raise the knowledge and skills of their students. By including the Oracle Academy's programs into their teaching plans these faculty help students align themselves much better with today's demands in the industry.

The Objective of the Academy

The principle intent of this inculcation program is to include training associated with technology and skills relevant to the 21st century. This training will be utilized in the career programs supplied through Chicago Public Schools Career and Technical Education. Because of these endeavors, more than 1000 students are predicted to get in depth, state of the art oracle adf training courses intended to increase their career potential quite significantly. The Academy is also active in facilitating the adoption of the high tech CPS pathway. Towards this end, ten teachers in the City Colleges of Chicago will work with the Academy too.

Requirements to Be Fulfilled by the Teachers

The faculty members that are part of such programs by Oracle Academy will have to complete about forty hours of classes online. This is going to be followed by a study course in the Academy's classrooms. The classroom lessons will involve a collaborative effort between the chosen teachers and Oracle Academy trainers whereby training skills will be imparted to the former. The teachers will also be completing a class project before they take their final exams. The Chicago teachers included in the Academy join the group of over 1400 strong Oracle Academy trained teachers in the U.S.A. However, this academy doesn't just limit its courses to American teaching professionals. Teaching professionals in more than 95 different countries have received training here.

This is the very first time that the Oracle Academy is offering the instructor training program in an urban school district. As a result, this effort can be regarded as an innovative method to STEM education. This uncovers a great opportunity for instructors in this field to enhance their professional skills so that they can groom some of the future's top software professionals. Brenda Wilkerson who is a part of the IT Cluster, Chicago Public Schools welcomed this event. She reiterated that the Oracle Academy had opened an excellent potential for professional enhancement and training that will enable pupils in these spots to 'pursue twenty-first century careers'. Although credit does go to the Academy, the function would have been not possible but for the full commitment and cooperation between the Academy's instructors and the local educators.
