Rift is the latest and most exciting massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Since the launch, Rift, Planes of Telara has had very good reviews and after only a few months has a subscription of over one million. At the time of launch, Rift had 12,000 weapons for you and your characters to defend Telara.
The Planes of Telara is a 3D fantasy world that is blessed with a rich supply of Sourcestone. The Ward, a magical defence, was built specially to protect the people of Telara but as a result of treachery, the Ward has weakened and Rifts develop. These Rifts form where the planes intersect. These Rifts must be sealed quickly because if these Rifts open, invading monsters spawn out and are programmed to move to a particular destination. The Telarans must defeat this invasion and seal the Rift or else Telara is doomed.
If you are new to online gaming, you will find yourself slightly disadvantaged. The experienced gamers will quickly work out how things work and move up the levels with easy, while you find that you are losing lives. I hope this article will help and encourage you.
This most important aspect of the Rift game is going up the level and the higher you go the greater the challenge. The top level is 50 and once you get there several great opportunities await you. So you want to get there quickly.
There are four ways to approach levelling. These are questing, closing rifts, grinding and dungeons. When you join the game, you start at the tutorial zone and this spans up to level 6 or 7. As a Guardian, you are in Mathosia and, as a Defiant, you are in Terminus. There are no rifts here and you can only do quests.
The fun route up the levels is questing and you are not allowed to leave the Tutorial Zone until you complete all your quests, so have fun. From this zone, you level up to Silverwood or Freemarch. A good strategy is to remain in this zone until you reach about level 20. You can do questing and closing rifts. Finding and closing rifts is best done in groups. If you see a rift, join in if you want. It will give you experience but not a lot of factions or equipment. Questing on the other hand gives coin, experience, equipment and faction gain.
A great way to get up the levels fast is dungeons. If you can find a good group and work really well together through the dungeons, then you will move up to level 50 in days. Dungeons gives very good experience but equipment is not great. You can access dungeons at level 17 onwards.
If you feel you are slipping behind, grinding is one way to catch up. Grinding is killing the enemy over and over again. If you can persist with this, you will level up effectively.
